13th International Motorcycle Conference 2020

The ifz is delighted about 3700 conference participants

27 scientific contributions and a focussed online expert discussion. The 13th International Motorcycle Conference brought together the latest findings from research into motorcycle safety and ensured a fruitful exchange of ideas between research teams from numerous countries. In the end, over 3,700 participants from more than 90 nations took part in the conference, which this time was moved to the Internet’s virtual space due to the pandemic.

The topics of the conference contributions already prove that research is being conducted here in a practical manner and thus primarily for the safety of all motorcyclists. The spectrum of topics varied from driver equipment, rider training and electronic assistance systems to accident analysis, intelligent traffic systems and aspects of electromobility.

„Those who take a closer look at their contents will find that the results presented and the resulting proposals and safety concepts are highly relevant for the future everyday life of motorcyclists and scooter riders“, ifz head of research Matthias Haasper points out.

Following the tradition, the broad range of topics was once again the trademark of the ifz International Motorcycle Conference. The exchange of experts produced a series of new safety-relevant findings that are not only useful for current practice but also increasingly reveal the contours of lower-risk motorcycling in the future.
