7th International Motorcycle Conference 2008
6
– 7 October 2008, Cologne
The 7th International Motorcycle Conference took place under the headline ‘Safety – Environment – Future’, covering all aspects related to motorized two wheelers.
The ifz-Conference took place prior to the 6th International Motorcycle and Scooter exhibition INTERMOT Köln 2008 and was as usual organized in co-operation with the Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) from the USA. With contributions from specialists from all over the world regarding the situation of motorized two wheelers the status of current safety research and the comparison of legal conditions was internationally considered.
Subjects covered included accident analyses, riding and rider’s education, vehicle and driver’s equipment as well as the state of the art in technology and research. Environmental compatibility and perspectives for safe mobility on two wheels complemented the broad based topic. Scientists, researchers, practitioners, politicians, employees of administrative bodies and authorities as well as representatives of the motorcycle industry were called upon to make contributions to the 7th International Motorcycle Conference and made it a trend-setting milestone.
The contributions of the conference are available on CD in our Shop as volume 13 of the publication series “Forschungshefte Zweiradsicherheit” (proceeding No. 13) of the ifz.
Cooperation partners of the conference were the Industrie-Verband Motorrad Deutschland e.V. (IVM) and KölnMesse GmbH.
